Transformational!
Completed a full 12 week Hyrox programme (with a partner who was a very strong runner) and went from dreading the run to making huge progress and ended up really enjoying it. Very well thought out programme that balanced areas to improve with my stronger points to get me to a well-rounded position for the race. Ended up beating our target time by 2 minutes, which definitely wouldn’t have been possible without HAC’s help!
Effective
Effective, tailored programming that fits in with life and the progress it gives you is amazing. My engine improved so much, but for me, the advice around fuelling and recovery was something I now use every time I train and has kept me injury free. Race day was soooo much more enjoyable after working with James. Would recommend to anyone.
I can’t put into words just how much…
I can’t put into words just how much James has helped me with my fitness. I feel unbelievably fitter than 12 months ago. I couldn’t squat or barbell with any technique. My running was boring and stagnant. My fitness was inefficient. James set me programmes that enabled me to complete an individual HYROX, doubles HYROX and other competitions. I had no motivation or goals and he helped me accomplish things I never thought possible. On race days, he gave the best advice. I would never have done the things I have this year without his help. It’s shown me that anyone can do anything with the right help. Thank you james.

James has been my PT in group sessions and solo sessions for a few years. He always has an answer or a way cater to every individual and make things understandable and clear.He’s help me progress to a point where I personally feel comfortable attending any class, train to and understand my own capabilities.

I started with James with a crossfit…
I started with James with a crossfit programme, James designed a personal programme for me that brung up my weaknesses, at the same time maintaining levels at all the other aspects of crossfit. This helped me become the fittest ive been.After the crossfit programme i was lucky to get a spot on the london marathon. James wrote me a specific progressive plan that led me all the way up to race day. The programme was designed for me taking into account fitness levels, life, injuries etc.10/10 coach, very knowledgeable, approachable and understanding.
Great coaches and easy to talk to
I’ve been following the Hybrid Program and am loving the variety in the sessions. The combination of weightlifting and running keeps things exciting and the variety keeps me motivated! Although a little injured, the coaches have been amazing and so easy to speak to, they’ve adapted and substituted various bits along the way so I haven’t missed any sessions. Awesome program and team to be a part of 🥰
It’s the little things
James is amazing at being able to change your mindset towards exercise and for me, competing and being better in the CrossFit – he sent me loads of useful books and podcasts to listen to which have been a game changer, also a testament to how much James wants to learn and be better for not just himself but his clients too! He’s also great at giving words of encouragement when you come away from something feeling a bit disheartened! His little queues and tricks to help with technique is unparalleled, top coach.
Name me a better coach… I’ll wait.
James’ attention to detail is the next level. He really listened to me when I explained what I wanted to get out of my fitness journey. My strength and conditioning have come leaps and bounds since joining the team back in 2021 & I look forward to seeing what 2024 brings.
Weightlifting program
James wrote me a weightlifting program. Over 8 weeks I had pbs in all the lifts we were training and more importantly with great video feedback, improved my technique and mobility which should allow for plenty more in the future.
Intuitive programming
James is a very approachable and versatile coach. He has vast knowledge in CrossFit, functional fitness and cardiovascular based exercise. He has helped me come on leaps and bound in my performance while still enjoying the pleasures of life. I highly recommend hybrid athlete club and James.

Hybrid athlete program as you expect but a whole lot more
Ive been getting programs and coaching off HAC and James for just under a year and they are perfect for me, any programs I get and I’m either not sure about or just want something different, he gets to work and really personalise it to make it more tailored and enjoyable.The programming speaks for it self as I had a massive improvement in my running at the back end of last year getting pb’s and even a few Spartan race wins. I am currently on the hybrid athlete program but have also added some of the running program on as an extra.I can’t wait to see what I can do next year on the program! Can’t speak highly enough, I even get kind feed back on there social media from people iv never met, some what like a community feeling.
An Ironman in 16 weeks
I remember coming to hybrid athlete club setting an un realistic goal of competing in an Ironman with 16 weeks of training. little did I know that it was unrealistic at all but actually about setting the challenge that it’s not about time it’s about just completing. James set me up a great endurance plan and also helped me lots with my nutrition and recovery so I could keep high volume across the weeks. He also built in phases of recovery and then calculated when I would be in peak week for my race day. Hybrid athlete club have been absolutely phenomenal in helping me complete one of my all time dreams in become an Ironman. Thank you
When my fitness started to plateau…
When my fitness started to plateau after a long history of different sports and exercise regimes, I reached out to James for help. Can honestly say that I saw more improvement in working with James for 4 months than I had for the previous 4 years.Would absolutely recommend James to anyone serious about improving their health and fitness.
Improving my fitness
After witnessing James’s fitness and weightlifting abilities over the years I decided he was the best person to approach to help me improve my all round CrossFit performance. After a few weeks of 1-2-1 I was already seeing results. Having tailor made programming guaranteed that it was always challenging and enjoyable.

5k to Half Marathon experience
James was an excellent coach giving me specific advise from where I was at currently going from never having run more than 5k outdoors to my first half marathon completed in March 2023 smashing my original goal of 2hr 45 and getting 2hr 2 min on race day. From specific programming/ advise/ warm ups and cooldowns and tailoring the programme when I had a slight ankle injury to just doing rowing to keep my cardio up before race day.

Hyrox plans and coaching
I came to James for his 8 week Hyrox program and ended up getting a customised program with regular support. There is clear intention and progression in the training programming from week to week. The workouts are varied taking into account the many facets of a Hyrox race.

Fantastic programming that is fun and always with a goal in mind. I didn’t realise the value in having a programme can have on motivation until using the Hybrid Athlete Clubs monthly programming. The personal touch with the multiple updates per week on programming and training are something that I’m not sure many else do, a community is building and highly recommend you give a try!
