Frequently Asked Questions

What is The HAC Hyrox Calculator?

We took a very deep dive into the Hyrox archives and dissected over 400,000 performances at UK Hyrox events and Hyrox events across the world. Within those performances laid the perfect race strategy for every one of you reading this.

For too long athletes have entered Hyrox events around the UK and around the world having to guess how to pace themselves and how to tackle the Hyrox workout stations. The Hybrid Athlete Club and our Hyrox Race Pace Calculator is here to fix that.

  • Runners have pacing calculators
  • Weightlifters have one-rep-max calculators
  • Bodybuilders have calorie calculators
  • Hyrox athletes… Hybrid Athlete Club brings you the ultimate race pace tool.

We've taken the guesswork out of understanding how to pace a Hyrox race. By analysing every single Hyrox finisher’s performance, we are able to piece together the average time taken to complete every element of the race.

Using your results you can not only strategize your race, but also put together a training program that will guarantee you hit your target finishing time.

The Hyrox Calculator can deliver race predictions for every Hyrox division at all of the major events worldwide. The calculator delivers for:

  • Men Pro
  • Men Open
  • Women Pro
  • Women Open
  • Mixed Doubles
  • Mens Doubles
  • Womens Doubles

For first-time Hyrox racers the event can seem simple on paper, but it’s a unique format and characteristics. It’s unlikely you’ll have done anything like it before, making it tough to figure out a realistic target time.

We have the answer. We’ve combined two Hybrid Athlete Club tools to solve the first-timer conundrum: the Hyrox Calculator utilises parts of our running calculator under the hood.

We take your 5km time and extrapolate how long it would take you to do 15km—this approximates your total running time during a Hyrox event (1km runs between stations).

On average, the running element comprises almost exactly 50% of the total time for a Hyrox event in the UK. While the 5k/15k insight won’t give an exact performance comparison, it’s an excellent starting point to see if your ambitions match your potential.

If you’re already doing regular workouts that include some of the Hyrox movements, you might need far less time than someone newer to functional training.

If you’re a keen runner regularly hitting 5–10km runs, you could be ready to tackle the event in no time. If you’re newer to running or the Hyrox movements, here are some benchmarks to consider before signing up:

  • You’re capable of running/jogging 5km without walking more than once or twice
  • You can complete two minutes of body-weight walking lunges without stopping
  • You can row and ski 1,000m in under six minutes each
  • You can complete 100 air squats in under six minutes

If you answered yes to all of those, you could be ready for a HYROX event in as little as 8 weeks! Now it’s time to decide on a Hyrox division.

Men and Women’s Pro Division

The Pro race is TOUGH. The main difference between Open and Pro is the weights used for movements. You’ll need a strong foundation of fitness, but the jump may not be as big as you think if you already have strength in place.

Men and Women’s Singles (Open)

The Open division is entry-level for individuals. The weights are lighter than Pro, but the volume is almost identical. You’ll still need well-rounded fitness to tackle this challenge.

Doubles (Men, Women or Mixed)

In the Doubles division, the workload at workout stations is shared. You still run the full 8km, but you get rest when your partner works. It’s great for newbies and offers camaraderie and motivation—plus the chance to dig deep when it’s your turn.

Take your result from our Hyrox Race Pace Calculator and you can piece together an effective training program that combines running and functional fitness.

Identify your target times for each station and build capacity over several weeks to complete each station after a 1km run.

Better yet, speak to our coaching team and get yourself a HAC Hyrox Program. Our Hyrox Programs integrate your calculator result directly into the plan. We’ve done all the leg work and devised an effective, personalized program with your target time in mind.

HYROX pace calculator & race time predictor guide

Searching for a HYROX pace calculator, HYROX time calculator, or HYROX race predictor? You're in the right place. Hybrid Athlete Club built this free tool from more than 400,000 finisher performances worldwide — so your targets reflect what athletes at your level actually do on race day, not guesswork from a single 5K time alone.

How our HYROX race pace calculator works

Enter your target finish time, division, and race location at the top of this page. The calculator finds athletes who finished close to that time at events like yours and averages their splits across all eight runs and eight workout stations — including RoxZone transitions.

Running typically accounts for roughly half of total HYROX time. The remaining half is stations: ski erg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls. A good HYROX pacing calculator shows both — so you can see whether you need to bank time on the runs or claw it back at the sled.

HYROX finish time predictor vs pace splits

Many online HYROX finish time calculators predict your overall time from a 5K personal best, deadlift, or bench press. That helps first-timers ballpark a result. Our approach is built for athletes who already have a goal — sub-90, sub-75, podium — and need a HYROX split calculator to hit it.

Set the time you want. Get per-station targets. Train and race against those numbers. If you've already raced, pair this with RoxReport to compare your actual splits against the plan and fix weak stations.

Why division and location matter

Men's Pro sled loads, wall-ball targets, and typical finish times are not the same as Women's Open — and athletes in London often pace differently to athletes in Chicago or Melbourne. Generic HYROX time estimators ignore that. We filter by division and major event city so your HYROX race time calculator output matches the race you're actually entering.

You enterCalculator returns
Target finish time (e.g. 1:15:00)Recommended pace for each 1km run
Division (Open / Pro / Doubles)Station splits adjusted for your category
Race locationSplits based on finisher data from that event market

Turn calculator splits into a training plan

Splits are only useful if you train to them. Once you know your bottleneck stations, practice under fatigue at a HYROX simulation, sharpen technique on sled pull, farmers carry, and wall balls, then follow a structured HYROX training program built around your goal time.

Common HYROX pace calculator questions

What is a HYROX pace calculator?
A HYROX pace calculator breaks your goal finish time into realistic run splits and workout-station targets — so you know how fast to run each 1km loop and how long to spend on ski erg, sleds, carries, lunges, and wall balls. The Hybrid Athlete Club tool uses real finisher data from hundreds of thousands of HYROX results, not generic running formulas alone.
How is this different from a HYROX finish time predictor?
A finish time predictor estimates how long your whole race might take from inputs like 5K pace or gym numbers. Our HYROX pace calculator works the other way round: you set a target time and get station-by-station splits that athletes actually hit at that level — useful for race-day pacing and training priorities.
How accurate are the HYROX race calculator splits?
Splits reflect median performances from athletes who finished near your target time for your division and event location. Individual results vary with course, equipment, and strengths, but the benchmarks are grounded in real race data — typically within a few minutes of what well-prepared athletes achieve at each time bracket.
Does the calculator work for HYROX Open and Pro?
Yes. Select your division — Men's or Women's Open, Men's or Women's Pro, and doubles categories — plus your race location. Station loads and typical split patterns differ between Open and Pro, and the calculator adjusts accordingly.
